Textures and Backgrounds
DIGITAL DOWNLOADS -- Use Textures for digital images and backgrounds for collage and mixed media. If you've never used Textures before, Photoshop/Lightroom/On1 expert Matt Kloskowski has a great intro video on his site: https://mattk.com/texture-blending/ , plus some great texture bundles (Not an ad -- I've taken several of Matt's classes and he's a great instructor). Also, don't be afraid of Photoshop -- it's an easy process there, and even easier in On1 software, https://on1.com.
If you'd like to learn more about collage, I highly recommend mixed media artist Christina Lovisa, https://christinalovisa.com -- her workshops are creative and fun.
